Willard C. Shih is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice. He is a seasoned trial lawyer with a national reputation for handling complex business disputes and high-stakes litigation.

Will represents businesses and individuals in sophisticated commercial matters, including corporate and partnership disputes, trade secrets and restrictive covenants, unfair competition, consumer fraud, and other complex business claims. He also regularly represents closely held companies and family-owned businesses in disputes that intersect with probate and family court proceedings.

In addition, Will has extensive experience defending law firms and professionals in claims involving alleged professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and civil conspiracy. He is known for developing a deep understanding of his clients’ underlying businesses and professional practices, particularly in technically complex or highly specialized areas, allowing him to deliver practical, strategic, and credible defenses.

Will does not hesitate to take matters to trial when necessary, but he is equally focused on achieving efficient and favorable resolutions through arbitration, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. His approach is pragmatic, direct, and results-driven.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only organization recognizing excellence in trial advocacy, and is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney. He is consistently recognized by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, and New Jersey Super Lawyers for his work in commercial litigation.

Will is deeply committed to the legal profession and has served in numerous leadership roles by appointment of the New Jersey Supreme Court, including on its Civil Practice, Rules of Evidence, and Dispute Resolution committees. He has also chaired a District Ethics Committee and served as a Panel Chair of a Fee Arbitration Committee.
