Karen Chin brings an international legal background and experience supporting New York litigation matters.

Before continuing her legal education in the United States, she practiced law in Ecuador for approximately seven years.

She earned her Master of Laws, LLM from St. John’s University School of Law and passed the New York bar examination.Her admission to the New York bar is pending.

Karen’s experience includes legal research, drafting litigation documents, assisting with discovery, and preparing matters for attorney review. She approaches her work with careful attention to detail, thorough preparation, and a commitment to understanding each matter’s particular needs.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Karen values clear communication and helping clients feel informed and supported throughout the legal process. Her experience across two legal systems brings a broad perspective to her work and an appreciation for clients from diverse backgrounds.

  • Assisted attorneys with New York personal injury, medical malpractice, and nursing home litigation, including drafting discovery demands and responses, preparing deposition summaries, and reviewing medical records.
  • Conducted legal research and assisted with drafting motion papers, including motions to reargue and renew.
  • Supported a federal insurance coverage matter through document production, preparation of correspondence, and electronic filing.
  • Participated in pro bono work involving foreclosure settlement conferences through the Staten Island Volunteer Lawyers Project.
